Benefits of meditation

Meditation is the antidote to stress. If stress is unattended,  it develops into chronic stress symptoms which include: coronary heart disease, anxiety, insomnia, addictions, digestive disturbances, heart attacks, strokes and/or infections, and even cancer. All of these things cause inflammation in the body, and release more cortisol into the body indicating the body is stressed.

 

During meditation the body shifts into a state of restful awareness. When the body reaches this state we begin to see a decrease of heart rate and normalization of blood pressure. Quiet breathing reduces stress hormones, strengthens the immune system, and even delays physical aging.
